About Thrumjoy
Thrumjoy is a small, independent editorial project covering free coin-merge and idle-mining games for Android. It is written and maintained by one person, Riley Evans, based in New South Wales, Australia — not a studio, not a company, and not affiliated with Google, Google Play, or any of the developers whose games are reviewed here.
How a review gets written
Every game on this site is installed and played directly before anything is written about it. We look at how the core loop introduces itself, how long a comfortable session runs, what the game asks of a first-time player, and where the interface gets in its own way. None of that produces a single objective number — the editorial score attached to each review is a subjective rating out of ten, and it is presented as exactly that, not as an industry consensus.
Where the ratings and images come from
Google Play ratings shown alongside our own score are pulled from each game's Australian Play Store listing at the time of writing and are credited as such — they belong to Google Play's aggregate system, not to us. Icons and screenshots are sourced the same way, directly from each game's official store listing, and are used here for identification and review purposes only. Ratings and screenshots can change after a game updates; we note the date a listing was last checked in the fact panel of each review.
How the site is funded
Thrumjoy carries no advertising and no sponsored placements. It is a small hobby-editorial project, not a commercial storefront — there is nothing to buy here and nothing that gets promoted for payment.
Corrections and contact
If something in a review is out of date — a game has changed significantly since we last checked it, or a rating has moved — the fastest way to flag it is by email. Details are on the contact page, along with the editorial and privacy policies that describe exactly what does and does not happen with any message sent to that address.
